2. Legal Basis

We comply with applicable laws and regulations, including:

  • Law No. 27 of 2022 on Personal Data Protection (UU PDP) — in full effect since October 2024. This law requires consent, grants data subject rights, and governs security incident notification.
  • Law No. 11 of 2008 on Electronic Information and Transactions (UU ITE) as amended by Law No. 19 of 2016.
  • Government Regulation No. 71 of 2019 on the Administration of Electronic Systems and Transactions.
  • General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) — European Union — voluntarily applied as an international best-practice standard for visitors from the EEA.

3. Personal Data We Collect

We collect only the data necessary for explicitly stated purposes (data minimisation principle):

We do not use tracking cookies, analytics pixels, or third-party advertising services. No browsing behaviour data is collected.

4. Third-Party Data Processors

Form submissions are processed by Formspree, Inc. (operating in the United States). Formspree receives the data you enter in the form and forwards it to our email inbox. By submitting a form, you consent to this processing. Further information is available in the Formspree Privacy Policy.

Sending data to Formspree constitutes a cross-border transfer as referred to in Article 56 of the UU PDP. We ensure this transfer is based on the explicit consent you give when submitting the form, and Formspree maintains adequate protections consistent with international standards.

This site uses Google Fonts (Fraunces, Inter, JetBrains Mono) loaded from Google’s servers. Font requests may log your IP address in Google’s server logs. For more information, see the Google Privacy Policy.

5. Legal Grounds for Processing

We process your data on the basis of:

  • Consent (Article 20 UU PDP / Art. 6(1)(a) GDPR) — by submitting a form, you actively consent to the collection and processing of your data for the stated purposes.
  • Legitimate interests of the organisation — minimal data processing necessary to respond to incoming communications and manage the activities of the non-profit foundation.

6. Retention and Deletion

Form data is retained in our email inbox for as long as needed to follow up on your request, with a maximum of 24 months after the last communication, after which it is permanently deleted. Language preferences are stored in your browser’s localStorage and can be cleared at any time through your browser settings.

7. Your Rights as a Data Subject

Under the UU PDP and (for EEA visitors) the GDPR, you have the right to:

  • Access the personal data we hold about you.
  • Rectify inaccurate or incomplete data.
  • Erase your data (“right to be forgotten”).
  • Restrict the processing of your data.
  • Port your data to another party (data portability).
  • Withdraw consent at any time without affecting the lawfulness of processing prior to withdrawal.
  • Object to processing based on legitimate interests.
  • Lodge a complaint with the Indonesian Personal Data Protection Authority (once established) or the supervisory authority in your country.

To exercise these rights, send a written request to hello@arthropodwelfare.com. We will respond within 14 working days in accordance with the UU PDP.

8. Data Security

We implement reasonable technical and organisational measures to protect your data, including: transmission via HTTPS, restricted access to the organisation’s email inbox, and not storing form data on our own servers. Should a security incident occur that affects your data, we will notify you and the competent authority within 14 calendar days as required by Article 46 of the UU PDP.

9. Children’s Privacy

This site is not directed at children under 18 years of age. We do not knowingly collect personal data from minors. If you believe a minor has submitted data to us without parental or guardian consent, please contact us immediately so we can delete it.

10. Changes to This Policy

We may update this policy from time to time. Material changes will be announced via a notice on this page with an updated effective date. The latest version is always available at this page.
